u-pick

Strawberries We picked twenty quarts this afternoon at Finke's Berry Farm.

Too_many_2I'm not sure how many we ate while picking, but it became immediately apparent when we had had our fill.

And, as if these weren't going to keep us busy enough, our CSA share included another half quart today.

If you have any strawberry jam tips and tricks, please do share!

Yummy! I love strawberries and there is nothing nicer than picking (and eating!) your own.

Have you tried just freezing them? Wash/dry cut off stems. Freeze on parchment paper on cookie sheets then dump in freezer bags when they are hard. They stay nice in the deep freeze, thaw out quick and they save us many meals where there is no other fruit or veg that Bea will eat. They are much better than commercially frozen strawberries, that's for sure.

look how sweet your little miss is! oh, and i have to add that your banner is absolutely MAGICAL.

Oh that face!
