blues: inside and out

Outside, steam rises off the deep blue lake. Heat is all relative when the air temperature is -18 degrees F. Needless to say I didn't stay outside for long.
Inside, the blue cable sweater is finished. For the second time. I ended up getting help at the local knitting shop, thanks in part to all of the encouraging comments and emails. Picking up stitches isn't that scary after all. Even if there are over thirty to pick up...

ok, that's cold.
So so proud of you for fixing the sweater!! It looks great.

Oh, you are my hero. I really should go to my local yarn shop and get some pro advice.. but I am too much of a chicken so I just muddle along on my own. The sweater looks grand.

I was thinking about how the Lake steams in winter a couple of days ago and I was going to dig out some photos. You are braver than I am Sarah, as I had no intention of going down by the water to take some new ones!
I love that sweater ~ well done!

hooray! good for you! You must be so happy with your work!
We're sitting at -33C with a windchill (that's -27F) today. At those temperatures, I don't really think it matters how cold it really is- it's JUST COLD!

Wow, I thought it was cold here at 0 degrees! That picture captures the chilliness quite well. Love that sweater you knit---great work!

I'm doing that thing I always do with you, Sarah! I read a post, assume I've commented on it, come back several days or a week later, and think, "Did I really comment on this or not?" Then I discover that it's "not." So, so sorry!
I hope everything is going well. I freaked out a little when you mentioned in a comment to me that you were having -60 temps. We used to live somewhere where -20 or -30 were pretty much de rigeur in the coldest months, but never, never was it -60.
I LOVE the sweater. I really need to get a project going around here. It's been hats, hats, hats, because they're quick and simple and don't use much yarn. But I need to get something a bit more substantial on the needles.
