brrrrr....
When this the scene on the inside of my bathroom window (yes, there's a moisture issue in this old house...) and wind chill advisories warn of near immediate frostbite on any exposed parts of those who venture outside, I can't help but wish I had made myself one of these, or knit myself a pair of those. Luckily I can easily whip up the hot version of this and dream of the days when she will visit my garden (mind you, this is still months away). What is warming you these mid-winter days?

brr! I can't even imagine that kind of cold.

I can remember my bedroom window being like that as a child. Its wet and bluster and cold here too (but not as cold as you.!) Currently sitting with hot coffee and toasted hot cross bun - I've gone early I know :) Later a steaming bowl of nice homemade veggie soup with bread and cheese......
keep warm....

brrrrrbrrrrrr. I have always lived in old houses, so that scene is very familiar.
I could go for some hot chocolate. And a leisurely movie. But the thought of spring bulbs and fresh breezes and tea in the morning on the porch and long walks is keeping me going.

Cold here too, Sarah. And starting to snow.
I love that you see the beauty in something as annoying as ice on the inside of the windows!

What's warming me? Pumpkin soup with plenty of curry powder, fresh ginger infusions, a shawl large enough to qualify as a blanket, my little dog napping on my feet...
I don't know where you live, but it sure seems a lot colder than where I am, thoug.

What keeps me warm? A glass of vintage port and snuggling with your mom. As for the winterscape on your bathroom window, we did not see such beauty on the windows of the old house we lived in when you "were wee", to repeat your sweet words; but I do remember many mornings waking up in the front bedroom to find that the glass of water that we had left on the mantel the night before was frozen solid.

recently discovered your wonderful site, and coming from a 4 seasons climate as well, i'm alway amused by comments from your warm weather friends. But more importantly, i love your site!! so thank you.
We are feeling similar weather too but without the windchill (today at least, however watching my son's hockey game outside !! the other night, it didn't help that that wind was blowing ...yikes!)....what's great right now? Kids out early from school yesterday due to the snow that kept coming ...yipee...; snarfing down peanut butter choc chip cookies (oooo i am feeling a bit disgusting right now), and having printed out ysolda's fingerless mitts pattern i will attempt to try.

Great photo! That's how we feel here in southern Norway...very frosty! We had snow over the weekend. Knitting has been a big way to keep going this winter...things for gifts and things for sale at my shop...lots of knit fun. A new project begun at Christamstime continues--a simple lap quilt. I can soon begin the hand quilting. Hope you're keeping warm and happy! :o)
