Kaffir
Kaffir limes add textural curiosity to the produce section at the co-op.
Surely not part of the 100-mile diet.

Comments

surely not, but i'm not sure i could eat them anyway - they're so lovely to look at!

They remind me of crabapples. And you know, I spent so much time getting crabapples out of our horse field when I was a kid I couldn't imagine missing them; but, as it turns out, I do.

What do those limes taste like?

Also, kudos for just snapping pictures at the grocery store. Did anyone else in the produce section comment?

Great photo from the co-op..I love the 100 mile diet idea. It's next to impossible where I live at the moment, but when we lived in Victoria, BC...very easy. Farm markets everywhere, we grew all our herbs and lettuce, and picked all our summer berries on organic farms outside Victoria. It was paradise living there. I was so sad to leave. The nicest, earthiest city in Canada, I think.

I love your green week. It would be hard to buy fresh produce from within a 100 mile radius here in southern Ontario, as we have a couple of feet of snow on the ground and more on the way. I can't wait for spring!
